In November 2021, the 50 semifinalists participated in a virtual presentation with a panel of Army and DoD experts and were then down-selected to 20 finalists.

The top 20 small businesses will compete in the finals event in May 2022, where they will conduct a proof-of-concept demonstration to a panel of Army and DoD experts. The top 10 small businesses will be selected and awarded a prize of $25,000, in addition to the opportunity to submit a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research proposal worth up to $250,000 each.
