Led by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, and in collaboration with the Army Small Business Innovation Research Program, xTechSearch 8 is a broad-focus competition series bolstering our warfighters’ support while nurturing fruitful and long-lasting relationships with commercial science and technology firms.
Launching this fall, the competition will accept short concept white papers from small, independent U.S. businesses for a variety of solutions, including Army modernization challenges such as artificial intelligence and machine learning; autonomy; climate and clean tech; contested logistics and sustainment; immersive and wearables; and sensors.
Participating businesses will receive feedback on their proposals from Army and DoD stakeholders and can win up to $37,000 each in non-dilutive cash prizes. As they progress through the two-part competition, participants will have access to training, mentorship, and other support infrastructure to determine how to align their technology solutions with real users and buyers within the Army. Competition winners will receive an invitation to submit a request for a Phase I Army SBIR Proposal, through which selected firms can each earn a follow-on contract worth up to $250,000.
